Denair Chief 2 was the first to arrive on scene. Upon his arrival, he found a 100 feet by 50 feet barn as well as some out buildings fully involved. He assumed command and immediately requested a second alarm which brought in an additional type-one engine from the Keyes Fire Protection District, a water tender from the Mountain View Fire Protection District, and a water tender from the Hughson Fire Protection District.

Once suppression units began arriving on scene, they began attacking the fire in the defensive strategy. They required additional assistance thus a third alarm was requested.
