Officers began their investigation and speaking to witnesses. Witnesses reported that a dark gray 2014-2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 struck the bicyclist and then fled the scene. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a matching vehicle.

Later at the hospital, the victim, who was identified as Johnny Romo, 44, of Turlock, succumbed to his injuries. Officers are asking for your help in locating the suspect vehicle. It should be missing a passenger side mirror and turn signal and could possibly be at an auto body repair shop.
