On Monday, August 15th, 2022, at 5:11 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of E Canal Dr and N Denair Ave, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. One was a green Ford SUV and the other was a blue Magna bicycle. The bicyclist was laying in the roadway about thirty feet away from his bicycle.

The green Ford SUV had two occupants, neither of which suffered any injuries. The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.

The green Ford SUV sustained minor damage and was able to be driven away from the scene, while the blue Magna bicycle also sustained minor damage but was stored by the Turlock Police Department for safekeeping until its owner can reclaim it.

It’s currently unknown how the collision occurred.

The westbound lanes of E Canal Dr between N Mitchell Ave and Wolfe Ave were closed for a little less than an hour while crews worked the scene.
