Bomb Squad Called Out to House of Arrested Shooting Suspect

Yesterday, at approximately 1:00am, Turlock Police officers responded to the 3000 block of Radford after receiving a report of a victim having been pistol whipped and shot at. When officers arrived they found a witness who reported hearing a gunshot. The victim identified the responsible to be Andrew Ratliff. Ratliff, 35 years old, was arrested for felony assault with a deadly.

Turlock Police report that the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries to his face as a result of the assault.

Investigators were called out to the scene and later served a warrant on Ratliff’s home early Tuesday morning. While serving the search warrant investigators located a suspicious device inside Ratliff’s home and the bomb squad was summoned to the scene.

According to the Turlock Police Department, it appears there were remnants of bomb supplies found.
