Broken Fire Sprinkler Head at CSU Stanislaus Dorms Causes Water Damage and Displaces 23 Students

At about 1:30pm Thursday afternoon, the Turlock Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Stanislaus State University.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found that a fire sprinkler head had broken on the third floor of Residential Life Village Phase Three.

Firefighters secured the water and replaced the sprinkler head, but the damage had already been gone. 23 students were displaced after their six dorm rooms were affected.

The 23 students were placed in other university housing, while the cause of the incident is under investigation.
