This past week, California began receiving shipments from a prior request from the Strategic National Stockpile. The State was to date able to receive Personal Protective Equipment of almost 2 Million pieces.

Items of the supply delivery include face and respiratory protection, for example 358,381 N95 masks, 853,730 surgical masks, 162,565 face shields, and items for clothing protection for example 132,544 surgical gowns, 678 coveralls, 471,941 gloves.

This is just the first round of supplies received to help California get in front of the predicted crisis.

California this week requested additional supplies from the Strategic National Stockpile.
In addition to the supplies already received, more Personal Protective Equipment. The order consisted of 20 million more N95 masks, 10 million more surgical masks, 600,000 more surgical gowns, 600,000 more face shields, 100,000 more coveralls, and 600,000 more gloves.

California also added items to that new request to include 300,000 goggles, Medical Supplies of 10,000 ventilators, Lab and Diagnostic Supplies of 2 million swabs, and 200,000 RNA extraction kits.

Thats a total new invoice of just under 34.5 million items ordered to help keep California ahead of this pandemic.
