Cannabis dispensary customers robbed outside store Thursday evening

On Thursday, January 28th, 2021, at approximately 7:20 pm, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a robbery that had just occurred at the Firehouse Cannabis Dispensary located at 1601 W Main St. The caller reported that she and her husband were involved in a physical altercation with a male and female and during the altercation the suspects struck the husband with a bottle and stole his necklace. The caller reported the suspect vehicle to be an older maroon Chevrolet SUV, either a Tahoe or Suburban.

An officer went to go meet with the victims while others saturated the area to search for the suspect vehicle. Officers originally were unable to locate the suspect vehicle, however, about an hour later, an officer located the vehicle stopped at a red light at the intersection of N Tully Rd and Fulkerth Rd. The officer attempted a traffic stop and the suspect yielded.

A high risk stop was conducted where two subjects in the vehicle were detained. A short time later, the victims positively identified both detainees as their attackers. Both subjects were placed under arrest and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. The male, who was identified as Ryan Attaway, 36, of Turlock, for robbery and the female, who was identified as Norma Padilla-Lopez, 36, of Merced for assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing great bodily injury.
