David Fransen|

On Sunday, December 4th, 2022, at 12:01 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense that had just occurred at the Firehouse Cannabis Dispensary, 1601 W Main St, Turlock, where an armed security guard had believed he had just been shot at.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the security guard, who reported to them that he had been in the parking lot which was closed off with cones, when a silver or tan sedan, possibly a Toyota or an Infiniti, drove through the cones and into the parking lot.

The vehicle stopped and the guard was able to see the vehicle’s two occupants hitting each other inside. The guard approached the vehicle and confronted the two, when one of them exited it, grabbed something from the trunk, concealed it in his hands, and got back into the vehicle.

The vehicle then left the parking lot westbound on W Main Stand the guard observed a single muzzle flash directed at him from the front passenger seat of the vehicle just before it got onto northbound State Route 99.

Officers searched the area and did not find any evidence of a shooting, however, with it only being a single shot fired from inside a vehicle, the only piece of evidence that would have been left at the scene would have been a single spent bullet, which would have been hard to find without knowing an exact location of where the gun was aimed.

The investigation remains on-going. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call Officer Raymond Croxen at 209-668-6542.
