Colby Browning Arrested as Suspect in Stevinson Stabbings

Colby Browning, 31 of Turlock, was arrested on Saturday and facing charges of attempted murder as he allegedly stabbed two men outside Stevinson Bar and Grill.
 
The Merced County Sheriff’s Department arrested Colby Browning as a suspect and according to witnesses.
 
Apparently Browning and a 23 year old man from Denair got into an argument. Accounts state that Browning stabbed the victim twice in the chest.
 
Another 23 year old was stabbed in the leg by Browning as he tried to help his friend, the first victim.
 
Both victims were taken to Emanuel Medical Center. The first victim who was stabbed twice in the chest is still in critical condition. The second victim has already been released from the hospital.
 
Colby Browning’s residence in the 600 block of Crane Avenue was searched by investigators. The search warrant and initial investigation turned up clothing with blood on them. Browning had changed by the time he was arrested but the clothes found at the residence matched descriptions by witnesses.
 
The Merced County Sheriff’s Department is seeking any information concerning the Stevinson stabbings and asking that people with information call (209) 385-7472.
