The Turlock Police Department responded to a 911 call of a man stabbed in the alley in the 1400 block of Colorado Avenue at approximately 3:50am today.
Officers arrived and located the victim, a 34 yr old white male who was deceased. The victim had been stabbed. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family. The victim is not from Turlock.
A suspect was located and identified as Darren Merenda, 30 yr old, from Turlock. He was arrested and charged with murder and was taken to the Stanislaus County jail.
Investigation at this time indicates that the suspect and victim knew each other and the incident may have been over domestic issues.
