The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA) Public Health Services have announced they will begin their community flu vaccination clinics in Turlock, Modesto, Ceres, and Patterson.

The flu vaccine will be available for anyone six months of age or older. There is a suggested administrative cost of $10 per child (six months to 18 years old) and $27 suggested fee for adults (19 years and older), however no one will be turned away for the inability to pay, according to the release from the HSA.

Public Health Services’ community clinic in Turlock will be held on Oct. 21 at the Flea Market from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Community clinics will be held at the following dates and locations:

• Oct. 5, 2014 – Binational Health Week Event at Hanshaw School on 1725 Las Vegas
• St. in Modesto from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Oct. 12, 2014, El Rematito Flea Market on 3113 Crows Landing Rd. in Modesto
• from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Oct. 21, 2014, Turlock Flea Market on 2000 East Ave. from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00
• p.m.
• Oct. 25, 2014, Patterson Family Resource Center on 118 N. 2nd St. from
• 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
• Nov. 2, 2014, Modesto 7th Street Flea Market at the Auction Yard on 1107 S.
• 7th St. from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• Nov. 3, 2014, St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4606 Michigan Ave. in Valley Home
• from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Nov. 9, 2014, Ceres Flea Market on 1651 E. Whitmore Ave. from 8:00 a.m. –
• 2:00 p.m.

Suggested payments must be paid in cash.

In addition to the community clinics, Public Health Services will also be providing flu vaccinations through immunization clinics, located at 820 Scenic Dr. in Modesto. The daily immunization clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cash, check, credit, Medi-Cal, and non-HMO Medicare Part B are accepted at the immunization clinics.

“The flu virus can be spread 24 hours before a person is aware that they are ill,” Dr. John Walker, Stanislaus County Public Health Officer said. “Get a flu vaccine to protect others and those you love!”

In addition to getting vaccinated, Public Health officials recommend everyone help prevent the spread of the flu by:

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth;
• Covering your coughs and sneezes with your sleeve or tissue;
• Washing your hands often. Carry hand sanitizer with you and use it when you are not able to
• wash your hands; and
• Staying home if you are sick.
