County to Dedicate New Psychiatric Health Facility

The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors will host a community open house and dedication ceremony for the county’s new Psychiatric Health Facility in Ceres on Feb. 25.

The new PHF is a 16-bed psychiatric care facility designed to provide short-stays for patients in need of assistance.

Patients in emotional crisis will receive appropriate services to help transition into other treatment services within the county.

It’s projected that the PHF will help decrease overall in-patient costs in Stanislaus County.

The PHF is a result of a 24/7 Secure Mental Health Services Strategic Planning Work Group, including staff from the County Chief Executive Office, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, all local hospitals and other community stakeholders.

It is estimated that one in four adults will suffer a diagnosable mental disorder each year, but with proper treatment, there can be recovery.

The dedication will feature several guest speakers, light refreshments and tours of the new facility.

The PHF is located at 1904 Richland Ave. in Ceres and the dedication will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Feb. 25, a couple of weeks before the facility opens.
