Couple carjacked in parking lot late Monday night

On Monday, February 1st, 2021, at approximately 11:30 pm, a Turlock Police officer who was on an unrelated call in the 2100 block of Fulkerth Rd was flagged down by a security guard reporting that a couple had just been robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot.

The officer went and made contact with the victims who stated that they knew the suspects and identified them as Garrett Anderson, 30, of Turlock and Tasha Argo, 37, of Turlock. The victims further stated that they had met the two in the parking lot in separate vehicles when Anderson pulled out a gun, ordered the couple out of their vehicle, got into it, and drove away in it with Argo following. The victims furthermore stated that the suspects were possible en route to the 1300 block of W Main St.

Other officers responded to that location and located the two suspects and the victim vehicle. They were detained without incident and the victims were brought to the location to confirm that they were indeed the subjects who carjacked them. The victims confirmed and therefor both subjects were placed under arrest and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. Anderson was charged with carjacking, conspiracy, felon in possession of a firearm, and several unrelated warrants, whereas Argo was charged with carjacking, conspiracy, and one unrelated warrant. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
