CSU Stanislaus to Hold Grand Opening for Renovated Science Building

Many students at California State University, Stanislaus may not remember the original state of the oldest building on campus – the Science 1 building.

This semester, the Science 1 building finally reopened after two years of renovation. On May 14, the campus and community are welcome to attend the Grand Reopening event which commences at 2:30 p.m. and involves a program and guided tours.

Some of Science 1’s impressive additions include eight new classrooms and an open computer lab. The building will also holds the departments of mathematics, philosophy and modern languages. The School of Nursing will also be located in Science 1, along with an innovative simulation lab designed to give hands-on training to those pursuing the field of nursing

“In science, we are always looking forward,” said Reza Kamali, Dean of the College of Science. “Students want to see advancement, and this building represents that. The nursing simulation lab, in particular, will offer our students an experiential learning environment that mirrors real-life, clinical training to help them transition into professional practice.”
