The Bell Real Estate Cycling Team reached their goal of donating 50 bikes to the Salvation Army after raising $5,250 through their annual fundraisers.

The cycling team held two fundraisers — “Eat Cupcakes Kids Get Bikes” and “Bike4Kids” GoFundMe drive — to raise the funds to purchase the bikes for underprivileged children.

To thank all who donated, peddled, or even just ate some cupcakes, the Bell Real Estate Cycling Team took to Facebook.

“50 bikes delivered to the Salvation Army,” the cycling team posted on Facebook. “Many kids will have a Merry Christmas thanks to you.“

All of the bikes purchased by the Bell Real Estate Cycling Team were assembled by the team and family members; it took a team of 15 volunteers three hours to assemble all 50 bikes.

More than 70 bicycles in total were donated to the Salvation Army this year, which may be the most ever said Salvation Army Turlock Director Major Debi Shrum.

The bikes will be distributed through Turlock Together on distribution day, which is this Saturday.

Shrum says approximately 1,800 less fortunate families will receive food and toys through the annual program.
