On Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022, at 11:02 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at a business in the 1600 block of Lander Ave, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with the victim, who told them that a thin build white female adult wearing a mask had entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded “all the money”. When she got the undisclosed amount of cash, she fled the area in a gold SUV.

Officers reviewed surveillance camera footage and were able to get the license plate of the gold SUV. The vehicle description and license plate were distributed to surrounding law enforcement agencies, being told to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

A short time later, the vehicle was spotted and stopped in Ceres by a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy. Turlock Police detectives responded to the stop and interviewed the vehicle’s driver. During the interview, detectives were able to obtain additional information about the robbery which ultimately led to them obtaining a search warrant for a residence in the 2600 block of Rose Ave, Ceres.

Later that evening, at 8:53 pm, the Turlock Police Department’s SWAT Team, detectives, and investigators, served that search warrant in Ceres. During the service of the search warrant, multiple people were detained and questioned, which uncovered information about the robbery suspect’s identity and whereabouts.

The following day, Wednesday, August 24th, at 10:06 am, detectives were acting on the information that they had learned during the course of their investigation when they spotted the robbery suspect, April Breann Croy, 32, of Turlock, in the 100 block of N Tully Rd, Turlock.

Croy was arrested without incident and interviewed. During the interview, the location of the handgun used in the robbery was uncovered which resulted in it being later seized.

Afterwards, Croy was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of robbery.
