Dickey’s Opening in Turlock Pushed Back

The planned August opening of Turlock's first Dickey's Barbecue Pit restaurant has been pushed back to December or January at the earliest.

Dickey’s spokesperson Danielle Boyd says construction delays at the Monte Vista Crossings site pushed back the opening.

“They want to make sure everything is perfect before they open a new location,” said Boyd.

The new Dickey’s will be located next to Jamba Juice, in the former site of Mikalino’s Pizza and Pasta and Fuego's Tacos and Beer. It will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Dickey’s will offer eight signature meats, like pulled pork and beef brisket, and eleven home-style sides, like mac 'n' cheese and fried okra. Dickey’s slow smokes their meat on-site every day.

Dickey’s currently has over 300 locations in 40 states nationwide. The nearest store is located at 2816 McHenry Ave., in Modesto.
The Turlock location is owned by Rafael Armenta, Jr., a franchisee owner of El Pollo Loco. Armenta was recently recognized for his good deed of giving a $2,200 check to a customer who had his money stolen at a Modesto El Pollo Loco location. He also bought the man lunch.
