On Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, at 6:48 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of E Main St and N Center St, Turlock, observed a man riding a dirt bike at a high rate of speed without a helmet or license plate, so he began following him.

While the officer was behind the dirt biker, he continued riding at a high rate of speed and began blowing through stop signs.

Eventually, the officer attempted to stop the dirt biker near the intersection of E Marshall St and N Johnson Rd, however, he refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.

The dirt biker went northbound on N Johnson Rd, eastbound on E Canal Dr, and continued eastbound past N Daubenberger Rd in the dirt along the canal.

The officer was unable to follow the dirt biker past that point and last noticed him somewhere in an orchard off of N Verduga Rd.

The pursuit covered a total distance of less than a mile within about a minute.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s helicopter arrived in the area a short time later and checked the area for the dirt biker, however, was unable to locate him.

The dirt bike was described to be a small red and white 150cc and its rider was described as a white male adult with long hair last seen wearing a black hat, tan t-shirt, shorts, and black Crocs.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist in it is encouraged to call Officer Salvador De La Cruz at 209-668-1200.
