Despite a historically dry year, Don Pedro Reservoir will be fully operational this Memorial Day Weekend.
The reservoir, jointly operated by the Turlock and Modesto irrigation districts, will feature a lower water level than seen most years. But all boat ramps, marina facilities, and campgrounds will be open.
Every campsites at Fleming Meadows has been reserved for this busy holiday weekend. But some spots remain at the Moccasin Point and Blue Oaks campgrounds.
The dry weather will soon take its toll on Don Pedro. The launch ramps and Blue Oaks are expected to close June 1 as the lake dries up, with the Moccasin Point launch ramps closing on July 1. The Fleming Meadows boat ramps will remain fully operational through mid-July, but only two of five lanes will remain open after that.
