Drunk driver arrested after crashing and injuring man Saturday night

On Sunday, May 15th, 2022, at 10:56 pm, the Turlock Police Department and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with unknown injuries in the 1600 block of Lander Ave, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. One was a black Buick sedan and the other was a gray Jeep SUV.

The black Buick sedan had two occupants, one of which suffered minor injuries and was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital. The gray Jeep SUV had one occupant, Linzey Pacheco, 28, of Hilmar. She was uninjured.

Officers noticed that Pacheco was exhibiting signs of being under the influence, so they asked her to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. Pacheco participated in one, however, refused to participate in the others after being advised not to by one of her friends who arrived at the scene.

Based on Pacheco’s performance in the one test she participated in and the totality of the circumstances, officers determined that she was indeed under the influence of alcohol.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.

It is currently unknown how the collision occurred.

Pacheco was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater causing injury. She was also issued a driver’s license suspension order and her vehicle was impounded.
