On Saturday, January 21st, 2023, at 12:52 am, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of N Walnut Rd and Maryann Dr, Turlock, observed a driver driving recklessly, so he attempted to make a traffic stop on him, however, he failed to stop for the officer and a pursuit ensued.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Jesus Pulido, 19, of Turlock, went westbound on W Main St and then southbound on S Kilroy Rd, before deciding to pull over on the wrong side of the road in the 1000 block of S Kilroy Rd.

A high-risk stop was conducted where Pulido was removed from his vehicle and detained at gunpoint.

The pursuit lasted about two minutes, covering a distance of about one mile and staying at reasonable speeds.

Officers began speaking with Pulido and noticed that he was exhibiting objective symptoms of being under the influence, so they asked him if he would be willing to complete standardized field sobriety tests. Pulido agreed and did so.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, officers determined that Pulido was under the influence of alcohol.

Pulido was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer and driving under the influence of alcohol.
