IMG_1239-1

At about 11:16pm Thursday, Turlock Police Officer Gomez made a traffic stop at Castor Street and Spruce Street.

Gomez had been parked in the 300 block of S. Laurel Street, when he observed the vehicle that he stopped drive by and its driver throw a beer can out the passenger window right in front of him.

The driver was contacted and identified as Rocky Gonzales, 52, of Turlock.

Gonzales displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

Gonzales chose to provide two breath samples for his chemical test required by California’s implied consent law. He provided his first, but then several family members showed up and began interfering with the stop, discouraging Gonzales from providing his second.

One of the family members began raising his voice and nearly got himself arrested.

Gonzales then stated he wanted to provide a blood sample instead, so he was transported to Doctors Medical Center where his blood was drawn.

Gonzales was then booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Additionally, Gonzales was issued a driver’s license suspension order and his vehicle was towed.
