Drunk Driver Found with Four Handguns in Vehicle

Turlock police took a drunk driver into custody on June 7 after officers found four handguns in his vehicle, including one that was loaded.

Officers received report of a driver who had brandished a handgun at passing motorist in a road rage incident on East Avenue near Rose Ave around 4:30 p.m. June 7.

The reporting gave officers a description of the suspect and his license plate number, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.

Authorities were able to locate the suspect in the 100 block of Rose Avenue and conducted a high-risk traffic stop, said Webb.

Officers located four handguns in the vehicle, including one that was loaded, said Webb. The suspect was also found to have been driving intoxicated.

After being positively identified by the victims, Daniel Hicks, 46, was arrested for drunk driving a carrying a loaded handgun in his vehicle.
