A drunk driver was arrested early on Saturday after he attempted to flee the scene of an injury accident, but passed out before getting too far.
Gabriel Govea, 22, was arrested and booked for drunk driving and hit and run.
Govea was involved in a head on collision on Taylor Road, just east of Golden State Boulevard, around 1:30 a.m., said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.
After the collision, Govea, who had been driving drunk, attempted to flee the scene, but was unable to get far.
Officers found Govea passed out near the AMPM at the corner of Taylor Road and Golden State Boulevard, said Webb.
Three people were injured as a result of the collision and were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Webb.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
