On Saturday, October 22th, 2022, at 10:00 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported assault and battery in progress at Dust Bowl Brewing Company, 3000 Fulkerth Rd, Turlock.
An officer arrived on scene just as the fight had ended and a security guard pointed out a man later identified as Joshua Prasad, 22, of Modesto, who had been involved in the fight and was walking away.
As the officer attempted to make contact with Prasad, who was obviously intoxicated, he became verbally aggressive and refused to stop after being ordered to do so. The officer attempted to gain control of Prasad when he began physically resisting and slapped the officer’s hand.
Other officers arrived on scene shortly thereafter and assisted with arresting Prasad.
Prasad was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of battery against a peace officer or other public officer in the performance of their duties, obstructing or resisting a peace officer or other public officer, and public intoxication.
