Michael Eggman, the top Democratic challenger for U.S. Rep. Jeff Denham’s congressional seat, confirmed Friday that he is not currently registered to vote in the district.

Eggman (D-Turlock) said that he is currently registered to vote in Fresno, where he owns some property. The California 10th Congressional District encompasses most of Stanislaus County and part of San Joaquin County.

Eggman is an almond farmer and beekeeper, with operations in both Turlock and Fresno. He said he splits his time between the two cities.

Eggman noted, however, that he grew up on his family’s farm in Turlock and attended Turlock High School. He then went to Fresno to attend college at Fresno State University.

Eggman also pointed out that Denham (R-Turlock) owns property in Salinas, where Denham owns and operates a business, and in Virginia, where he lives while the House of Representatives is in session.

Eggman, Denham, and Mike Barkley (D), a Manteca lawyer and CPA, are competing in the June 3 primary election for the 10th District Congressional seat. The top two votegetters will then proceed to the November election, when a new 10th District Rep. will be chosen.
