Fair Opening Night DUI Checkpoint and Ongoing DUI Patrols in Turlock

As the Stanislaus County Fair begins its 10 day run tonight, police in Turlock will begin DUI saturation patrols and conducting a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint.

The AVOID the 12 DUI and driver’s license checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location.

AVOID the 12 will also be conducting several DUI Saturation Patrols in Turlock from July 15 to July 24.

"We want to ensure that motorists in Turlock are driving safe and sober," said Sgt Neil Cervenka, Turlock Police Traffic Safety Unit Supervisor.  "The Stanislaus County Fair brings a lot of people into town.  The AVOID the 12 coalition wants them to enjoy the fair, travelling to and from it safely and with peace of mind."

This Checkpoint is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) Avoid the 12 grant. The DUI Saturation patrols are funded by an OTS Selective Traffic Enforcement Program grant.

The Turlock Police Department is an active participant in the Crime Stoppers Program.  Callers can leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636 and may be eligible for a cash reward.
