Financial services provider employee robbed at gunpoint after arriving for work Monday morning

On Monday, October 10th, 2022, at 8:39 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at ACE Cash Express, 1825 Countryside Dr, Turlock.

Officers arrived on scene and met with the victim, an employee of the business, who told them that the incident had actually occurred about twenty minutes earlier at about 8:18 am.

The victim reported that he had arrived at the business, unlocked its front door, and began entering when an unknown man rushed up behind him and stuck an object, believed to be a firearm, against his back. The two entered the business together and the suspect told the victim to open a safe, remove its contents, and put them in his backpack. The victim complied and the suspect told the victim to lay down as he ran out the back door.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim waited for a while and then ran to a neighboring business where he called police.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s wearing a facemask, hooded sweatshirt, and bright colored construction type vest.

Officers are reviewing surveillance camera footage in an attempt to identify and apprehend the suspect.
