Fire Chief Finds Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Victim With Major Injuries

At about 12:41am Monday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to a traffic collision with injuries in the 400 block of E. Christoffersen Parkway.

Keyes Fire Assistant Chief Heydon Bailey had come across a man down in the roadway who’d obviously been struck by a vehicle.

When units arrived on scene, they found Cory Macauley, 41, of Montana, down in the roadway with major injuries. He was transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital, with an accompanying firefighter for extra manpower.

Officers were able to process the scene and collect evidence without needing to call out the Major Accident Investigation Team.

There’s currently no suspect vehicle information available.

It’s currently unknown how the collision occurred.
