Five Displaced, One Injured After Early Morning House Fire

At about 12:28am Tuesday morning, Turlock Fire, Modesto Fire, Turlock Police, University Police, Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit, and American Medical Response responded to a structure fire at a residence in the 4100 block of Ivory Lane.

Several callers were reporting the incident, including the residents, who stated they were trapped in the backyard and unable to get out.

When units arrived on scene, they found heavy fire conditions coming from an attached garage in the back of the home and a vehicle parked outside it. The fire was also extending into the home.

Firefighters immediately began fire attack and were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes, however, remained on scene for an extended period of time conducting overhaul, investigation, and other post-fire activities.

Two adults and three children were displaced as a result of the fire, one of whom also suffered minor injuries and was transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital. The American Red Cross responded to assist.

The Turlock Irrigation District and Pacific Gas and Electric Company also responded to the scene to secure utilities, while the Modesto Fire Department provided city coverage for the duration of the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
