TurlockCityNews.com

Foster Farms announced Thursday that Ron Foster has planned step down from his position as President and CEO of the company.

“I have greatly enjoyed the past 11 years as your CEO,” Foster said in a letter to Foster Farms employees. “During this period, we have witnessed some of the most challenging and some of the most rewarding times in our company’s history. I am confident that Foster Farms is positioned to do great things.”

The search for Foster’s successor is already underway and Foster will continue as President and CEO until the transition to the replacement, the company said in a statement.

Foster will continue in his role as an owner and director of the private, family-owned business.

Under Foster’s leadership, the Foster Farms’ sales have increased 70 percent. In 2014, the company became the No. 1 brand of fresh chicken in the Western United States and became the first major poultry producer in the U.S. to be certified by the American Humane Association.

Max and Verda Foster founded the company in 1939.
