Friday afternoon debris fire extends into garage

On Friday, April 30th, 2021, at approximately 2:45 pm, the Turlock Fire Department received a call of a working structure fire in the 300 block of N Thor St. The Turlock Fire Department’s Battalion 4, Engine 31, Squad 32, Engine 33, and Engine 34 responded along with the Ceres Fire Department’s Battalion 3 and Engine 15.

Engine 31 arrived on scene a few minutes later to find some debris on fire that had extended to a detached garage. Captain 31 assumed command and put crews in the offensive strategy. Crews began fire attack, bringing the fire under control within minutes and extinguished shortly thereafter.

No injuries were sustained as a result of this fire. American Medical Response responded to provide firefighter care and the Turlock Irrigation District responded along with Pacific Gas and Electric to secure utilities. The Turlock Rural Fire Protection District provided city coverage during the beginning part of this incident and the Ceres Fire Department took over once they were released from the scene.
