Friday night home invasion leads to shots fired

On Friday, February 26th, 2021, at approximately 8:10 pm, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a home invasion with shots fired in progress in the 4100 block of Wild Lilac Dr. The caller reported that someone had broken into their home and her husband had shot at him. Turlock and Stanislaus State officers responded and arrived on scene within minutes.

When officers arrived on scene and began their investigation, they learned that the homeowner was upstairs when he heard a noise downstairs. He went downstairs with a gun to investigate and discovered that someone had just forced entry into his home from the back door. He confronted the intruder while armed. The intruder then fled out of the residence to an awaiting vehicle with an unknown number of occupants which fled westbound on E Springer Dr. At that time, the homeowner heard what he perceived to be a gunshot from the intruder and then discharged his gun at the suspect vehicle.

Evidence of the shooting was located inside the residence. The neighborhood was canvassed and bullet impact locations were located on nearby vehicles in the 1300 block of E Springer Dr. No gunshot victims were located. The suspect vehicle was described as a gray Porsche crossover. The scene was processed, evidence was collected, witnesses were interviewed, and surveillance footage was reviewed. The case was forwarded to detectives.
