On Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at 11:03 pm, Turlock Police officers near the intersection of Geer Rd and Wayside Dr, Turlock, observed a man in a vehicle who they recognized and believed had a felony warrant, so they made a traffic stop on him.
Due to the nature of the warrant, a high-risk stop was conducted and both of the vehicle’s occupants, including Charles Jackson, 20, of Merced, were pulled out at gunpoint and detained.
The officers had their dispatcher run Jackson to confirm his warrant and sure enough, he returned with a no-bail felony Ramey warrant out of Merced for participating in a criminal street gang, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of a large-capacity magazine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person addicted to a narcotic.
Jackson was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.
The man who was with Jackson was released.
