Gas station robbed at gunnpoint early Saturday and Monday mornings

On Saturday, July 24th, 2021, at 1:00 am, the Turlock Police Department and Stanislaus State Police Department were dispatched to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at Arco AMPM, 150 E Monte Vista Ave, Turlock.

The reporting party, who was the victim, provided dispatch with the suspect’s description and last known location, which was relayed to responding officers. Officers checked the area for the suspect, however, were unable to locate him.

Officers made contact with the victim to begin investigating and take a report. During their preliminary investigation, they learned that a white male adult wearing a gray hat, black sunglasses, gray scarf, black sweatshirt, orange undershirt, black pants, and white tennis shoes had entered the business armed with a hammer in his left hand and a camouflage gun in his right hand. The suspect demanded that the victim give him money from the registers. The victim complied. The suspect then put the money in a bag and began running away. While running, he dropped the bag that the money was in, picked it back up, and continued running before jumping over the wall on the side of the business.

Two days later, on Monday, July 26th, 2021, at 4:02 am, the Turlock Police Department and Stanislaus State Police Department were dispatched to another reported armed robbery that had just occurred at the same gas station.

The reporting party, who was the victim, and the same clerk from the prior robbery, provided dispatch with the suspect’s description and last known location. Officers checked the area for the suspect, however, were unable to locate him.

Officers made contact with the victim to begin investigating and take a report. During their preliminary investigation, they learned that the same suspect from the prior robbery had entered the store armed with the same weapons, and demanded money from the registers. The victim complied again. The suspect then put the money in a bag and began running away in the same style as the prior robbery.

Video surveillance was reviewed and taken to be used as evidence in both robberies. No injuries were reported during either of the robberies. The investigations remain on-going.
