A Health Fair is being held by the Assyrian American Civic Club on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 6pm to 9pm at the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock. Emanuel Medical Center, Golden Valley Health Care Centers and Stanislaus County Agency on Aging will participate.
The event is looking to help create a healthier community through focusing on health promotion and prevention disease and creating a collaborative partnership among community health resources.
Staff members will counsel participants regarding high blood pressure, diabetes risk factors and other chronic diseases, as well as the services and resources available in Stanislaus County such as assisted transportation, family caregiver support, health insurance counseling homemaker program, home delivered meals senior lunch program, senior employment services senior law project, Ombudsman program PEARLS/peer counseling, and “Young At Heart” fitness veterans benefits.
Admission is free to the Health Fair. The Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock is located at 2618 N. Golden State Blvd. in Turlock.
