Hilmar Man Arrives at Hospital With Gunshot Wound

IMG_0226-1

At about 2:39am Sunday morning, Turlock Police responded to an assault with a firearm at Emanuel Medical Center in the 800 block of Delbon Avenue.

The caller was hospital staff, reporting that a patient with a gunshot wound to his right arm had just been dropped off by a man who immediately took off. The only information that they had about the incident is that it had possibly occurred somewhere on Golden State Boulevard.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered that their victim was out of Hilmar. Being that they hadn’t received any calls of shots being heard in Turlock, they called the Merced County Sheriff’s Office to see if they had any shootings.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office advised that they hadn’t had any shootings, just sounds of shots being heard in Delhi and Le Grand, during both of which deputies were unable to locate anything upon their arrival.

Officers then had the Merced County Sheriff’s Office do a security check at the victim’s residence, but everything was clear there.

It should be noted that this is only preliminary information available through police radio traffic, as the public information officers aren’t immediately available due to the holidays.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist in it is encouraged to call Officer Brett Conrad at 209-668-1200.
