Hit and Run Suspect Found with Cocaine, Arrested

A victim of a hit and run on Wednesday followed the suspect until he was eventually arrested by police and found to be in possession of cocaine.

The Turlock Police Department received report of a hit and run at approximately 8:47 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, a driver in a green Honda sideswiped a white Ford while traveling side by side on eastbound Fulkerth Road.

The Honda was attempting to make a lane change when the collision occurred, said Lewis.

The driver of the Honda, later identified as Mario Ramirez-Lopez, 22, fled the scene in his vehicle.

Ramirez-Lopez was followed by the victim until officers were able to catch up and stop the suspect, reports the Turlock Police Department.

Officers contacted Ramirez-Lopez and a search revealed that Ramirez was allegedly in possession of cocaine.

Ramirez-Lopez was arrested and booked for possession of cocaine, misdemeanor hit and run, and driving with a suspended license.
