Hot Times Ahead for Turlock

Break out the fans, buy some extra strong deodorant and find a swimming pool because the next week in Turlock is going to be hotter than two rats in a wool sock behind the refrigerator.

We have officially entered the dog days of summer.

The Weather Channel predicts a high of 101 today, 103 on Saturday, 102 on Sunday, 102 on Monday, 103 on Tuesday, 103 on Wednesday and 102 on Thursday. Overnight lows will only reach the high 60s.

Oh, but things will cool off a bit Aug. 1 with a high of 99, followed by a high of 88 on Aug. 2 and back up to 97 on Aug. 3.

While none of those days will reach record temps, let’s be honest, once it hits around 95 degrees it’s hotter than H-E-double hockey sticks no matter how you slice it.

Don’t expect much of a Delta Breeze in the evenings, with winds peaking at 10 mph.

Remember the hottest part of the day is between 2 to 6 p.m. and wear plenty of protection from the sun.
