On Sunday, November 13th, 2022, at 9:16 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported illegal dumping in the 2900 block of Niagra St, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with a man and a woman, later identified as Colton Babb, 35, of Denair, and April Solmes, 42, of Nevada.

Babb originally lied to officers about his name, however, his actual name was eventually discovered.

When officers had their dispatcher run the two, Babb returned with two felony bench warrants, while Solmes returned with two misdemeanor bench warrants and one infraction bench warrant. Babb’s first warrant was a $75,500 local one for possession of methamphetamines for sale, while his second one was a no bail one out of Stanislaus County for flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety and violation of post release community supervision. Solmes’ first warrant was for drug-related charges, and it’s currently unknown what the other two were for.

Both Babb and Solmes were arrested. Babb was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of falsely identifying to a peace officer as well as his warrants, while Solmes was released on a citation on her warrants.
