On Tuesday, February 7th, 2023, at 10:53 pm, the Turlock Police Department and Stanislaus State Police Department were dispatched to reported shots heard in the area of a residence in the 4000 block of St George Pl, Turlock.

Officers arrived in the area and didn’t immediately locate anything, however, were told by other nearby residents that there was a man going around with a stick hitting random houses’ doors. Officers were given a description of the man and even shown a video of him.

Officers continued checking the area and eventually found the man in front of a residence in the 300 block of E Springer Dr. He was contacted and identified as John Forbis, 29, of Modesto.

Forbis displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence and was also discovered to be on parole. Forbis’s parole agent was contacted, however, he determined that there was no violation of parole.

Forbis was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of public intoxication.
