An intoxicated suspect who would not comply with police for an extended period of time eventually had to be tased before being arrested early on Friday.

Turlock police responded to the 300 block of Montana Avenue on the report of an intoxicated subject who was threatening to hurt himself.

Officers set up a perimeter around the suspect, later identified as Raymond Tsesmilles, 27, in case he tried to flee, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

Once on scene, officers attempted to get Tsesmilles to comply with them, and surrender peacefully.

Tsesmilles allegedly refused compliance once he found that he would not be able to go back into his residence on the 300 block of Montana Avenue. The residence was occupied, and since he had been threatening to hurt himself, police could not put Tsesmilles or his family in danger by allowing him to go back to his home, said Lewis.

Officers spent approximately 30 minutes giving Tsesmilles the opportunity to receive help, but he continued allegedly threatening and challenging officers, said Lewis.

Eventually, Tsesmilles attempted to force his way into the residence, and officers tased him to subdue him, Lewis explained.

Tsesmilles was arrested for resisting arrest and public intoxication.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
