Joan Jett & The Blackhearts to Rock Stanislaus County Fair

Everyone knows that Joan Jett loves rock 'n' roll. But she apparently loves the Stanislaus County Fair as well, where she will make a return performance this summer.

Joan Jett and The Blackhearts will play at 8:30 p.m. July 19 at the Stanislaus County Fair. The concert will occur on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage, and is free with the price of fair admission.

“This is a show that rock ‘n’ roll fans will not want to miss,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are sure to make the Bud Light Variety Free Stage come to life.”

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts last played the Stanislaus County Fair in 2011.

Jett has eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles. Those hit songs include “I Love Rock 'n' Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You” and “Crimson and Clover.” Her latest album, “Unvarnished” came out in October.

The 2014 Stanislaus County Fair will open July 11 for a 10-day run. Discounted admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the Fair season pass will go on sale May 3.
