Television personality, comedian, writer, film director and actress Joan Rivers will perform at the Turlock Community Theatre next weekend.
As one of the most well-known entertainers today, Rivers is as robust and as hard working as ever.
Rivers started her early career in the 1950s in a short-run play called “Driftwood” alongside Barbra Streisand. Since then, Rivers has appeared on numerous television shows, including “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,” “The Carol Burnett Show,” “Hollywood Squares” and others. In 1986, Rivers launched her own television talk show called “The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers,” followed by “The Joan Rivers Show” in 1989 which won the actress/comedian an Emmy in 1990.
Rivers is also widely known for hosting multiple pre-awards shows on the E! Entertainment Television Network alongside her daughter Melissa, with the two interviewing celebrities on the red carpet before the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
Aside from television, Rivers is a best-selling author, having released eleven books, including her most recent “I Hate Everyone…Starting with Me,” published in 2012. Rivers has also designed jewelry, hosted radio shows, written plays, and much more.
Rivers will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 17 at the Turlock Community Theatre, 1574 E. Canal Dr. The show is recommended for mature audiences.
