On Friday, June 9th, 2023, at 8:24 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Montana Ave and Esperanza Ct, Turlock, observed a bicyclist violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a bicycle stop on him.

The officer made contact with and identified the bicyclist as a 17-year-old Black male juvenile of Turlock.

When the officer had his dispatcher run the juvenile, he discovered that he was on searchable probation for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

As the officer attempted to search the juvenile, he became resistive. The officer was able to eventually handcuff the juvenile, however, he continued to passively resist.

During a search of the juvenile’s backpack, the officer discovered a loaded handgun.

The juvenile was arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person addicted to a narcotic, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty, and possession of a handgun by a minor.

It should be noted that this is the same juvenile that was arrested for attempted murder on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021, at Columbia Park after he had stabbed a homeless man because of his ethnicity. The attempted murder charge did not stick and it was amended to assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
