Last season didn't end quite how San Francisco 49ers quarterback and Pitman High School graduate Colin Kaepernick would have liked.
This season, Kaepernick and the 49ers will look to win the Super Bowl that eluded them a year ago.
That quest for the Vince Lombardi Trophy kicks off Thursday, as the 49ers begin preseason play by taking on the Denver Broncos at Candlestick Park. The game kicks off at 6 p.m., and will be televised locally on KOVR-13 CBS.
Kaepernick will likely be limited to only one or two offensive series, as is standard for first-string quarterbacks in preseason exhibition games.
The 49ers regular season will begin at 1:25 p.m. Sep. 8, as they take on the Green Bay Packers at Candlestick Park.
