Kaepernick Loses in Semifinals of Madden Cover Vote

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has lost in the semifinals of the Madden NFL 15 cover vote, avoiding the dreaded “Madden curse.”

Kap faced the trash-talking Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who famously tipped the Kap pass to Michael Crabtree that sent the Seahawks to the Super Bowl. Sherman handedly won the semifinal matchup, receiving 65 percent of the votes.

While Kap won’t be gracing the cover of Madden NFL 15, some 49ers fan may be relieved now that he will be avoiding the “Madden curse.”

In the past, some players have either underperformed or been injured after gracing the cover of their respective Madden game.

Now Sherman will face Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in the finals to decide who will be on the cover of Madden NFL 15.

The winner will be announced June 6.
