Kaepernick Used ‘N-Word,’ Says Houston, Despite Previous Statement

After being penalized for a similar penalty on Monday night, Lamarr Houston of the Chicago Bears has reversed course and is now claiming San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick used the “N-word” when he received the inappropriate language penalty.

Kap received a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty during the Sept. 14 game against the Bears after allegedly making a racial slur at Houston.

After the game, both Kap and Houston denied that anything was said that warranted a penalty.

“I didn’t say anything,” said Kaepernick.

“I didn’t hear anything,” Houston told the Chicago Tribune, adding he only said “nice pass” to Kap after he threw an interception.

Kaepernick was fined $11,025 by the NFL for the alleged slur, but he has expressed that he plans to appeal the fine.

On Monday, Houston was penalized for the same penalty and following the game he had a different story about what Kap had said to him the previous week.

“He was just saying inappropriate language,” Houston told the Chicago Tribune after Monday’s game.

Houston added that Kap used the N-word, but reportedly said it was a “cultural thing.”

Kap was asked again about his alleged slur following Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

“I didn’t say anything racially derogatory to [Houston]” said Kaepernick.
