On Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, at 12:47 am, a Turlock Police officer near a residence in the 300 block of W Olive Ave, Turlock, observed a man driving a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on him.
The officer made contact with the man, who he knew as David Gallo, 21, of Turlock, and observed illegal fireworks in his vehicle.
The officer had received information that Gallo had been selling a large amount of illegal fireworks, so he began investigating further and obtained a search warrant for Gallo’s residence, which he had been stopped in front of.
During the service of the warrant, the officer discovered 400 pounds of illegal fireworks, constituting a felony amount, as well as marijuana and other narcotics that Gallo was known for selling, which also appeared to be for sale.
Gallo also didn’t have a valid driver’s license and his vehicle’s registration was expired.
Gallo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of dangerous fireworks without a valid permit, possession of a controlled substance for sale, committing a felony while on bail or release, driving without a valid driver’s license, possession of cannabis for sale, and driving or leaving standing an unregistered vehicle.
