Known resister arrested after running from officers during assault investigation Wednesday night

On Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, at 11:15 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported battery in progress in front of Envy Fine Clothing, 5 E Main St, Turlock, between a man and a woman.

When officers arrived on scene, a man later identified as Raymond Fajardo, 26, of Turlock, began walking away from them. That walking eventually turned into running and Fajardo made his way to the intersection of E Olive Ave and N Center St, ignoring multiple lawful orders to stop.

Other officers eventually arrived and were able to assist in detaining Fajardo.

This is not Fajardo’s first time resisting officers, in fact, he’s got a long history of it. There’ve been times when Fajardo has resisted with violence and has had to have been be placed in a “The WRAP” restraint device.

It’s currently unclear what ever happened with the battery that had originally been reported, however, Fajardo was not charged with it.

Fajardo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of obstructing or resisting a peace officer or other public officer in the discharge of their duty.
